By George, I Don't Think He's Got It!

Slick joins the Columbus Police Department's "Ride-A-Long" program.

"HEY! Thish ishn't Denny's!"

Last weekend, a cheerleader for THE Ohio State University, George Karadimas, stayed home in Columbus, while the football team went down to Austin, Texas, to play the Longhorns. Even though he didn't go, George was still pretty excited after the Buckeyes won the game. While forty fires were going on in celebration that night, George had his own way of celebrating. He went and had some drinky-drinky, and decided he was sober enough to drive.

The three people he plowed into probably would have disagreed with that. George ended up hitting a fireman and the vice president of Ohio State and her husband. That was smart. All three were okay, happily, and George spent some time getting free room and board in jail. The official charge? Aggravated vehicular assault.

Hey George, I have a suggestion: transfer.

Oh well, no MyShrine comments today, right? Wrong. Of course George has a MyScum profile! Sadly, it can't be viewed by the general public. How we'll survive this, I don't know. However, from what I DID see, George does have a quote for viewing. And the Lord said, "Let there be George." Humble kid, huh?

Another stunning triumph for "outcome based education". Good thing we concentrate on self-esteem as much as the three "R's". Of course, I accidentally on purpose stole his picture. Maybe I should contact one of my old teachers and get a ribbon for it.

The Things We Do For Love

Smile for the camera, Heather! What do you have to say in your defense?

"It was the music! It fucked up my mind and totally locked up my computer! Don't the police have better things to do than prevent murders?"

I've really GOT to cancel my MySlime--uh, MySpace--registration. I haven't done that yet due to sheer laziness. But now, and HERE'S a shocker, the email address I registered with is starting to get hit with porn spam. Hey, I got NOTHING against porn. I just can't stand spam. Especially when it's spamming for something that any idiot (such as, well, myself) can find for free. Anybody who buys porn on the internet must also be stupid enough to buy such hard to find things as email accounts and air.

Anyway......to the lovely lady pictured above.

Ever feel like the smartest person in the world? That's kind of how I'm feeling right now. The smug get....more smug? Smugger? Smugly? Smuglier? Whatever it is, I am.

Rage Over MySpace Photo Leads to Arrest

MESA, Ariz. (Sept. 14) - A 22-year-old woman was arrested after authorities say she tried to hire someone to kill another woman whose photo appeared on her boyfriend's MySpace.com Web page.

Heather Michelle Kane was booked Tuesday for investigation of conspiracy to commit murder, Mesa Detective Jerry Gissel said. She was arrested after she met an undercover Mesa police detective at a grocery store, gave the officer $400 and offered to pay an additional $100 once the woman had been killed, according to court records.

The records say Kane gave the undercover officer photographs taken from her boyfriend's social networking Web page of the woman she wanted killed. She also requested a photo of the woman's dead body.

It wasn't clear if the boyfriend and the targeted woman were romantically involved, Gissel said.

"Social networking"? Does that now mean "narcissistic people creating meaningless tributes to themselves and trying desperately to be cool by adding anyone and everyone that breathes"? Then MySpace, is indeed, all about "social networking".

I know it seems like I'm obsessed with this on-line Studio 54 (and let's face it, the only thing missing from this "community" are strobe lights and disco balls), but really, I had no intention of mentioning it today. But when the universe drops something like THIS in my lap, I'm obliged to repay. You know, so I can be "showin' the love" (as they like to say in the land that intellect forgot).

And while someone can make the argument that this could've happened anywhere on-line and be correct, the simple fact is that it DIDN'T happen anywhere else. It happened on MyScum.

Just A MySpace Rant

This is about as deep a thinker as you'll get on MySpaceBetweenTheEars.

A few months ago, I registered on MySpace. Not to put up a profile, but to see somebody else's . A couple of days after I registered my email, I got an invitation from a 21 year-old brunette from California to link up to her page. Yeah. That happens every day. So I checked out her profile and realized I had been given the opportunity to join her circle of friends. All 1800 of them. I couldn't hit the "no way do I accept" button fast enough. As for MySpace itself, I really felt the need to take a shower after seeing some of those profiles.

So...who was MY celebrity lookalike?

That's right. Shannen Doherty. I think I took the quiz incorrectly.
